Notifications

Hylo notifications are highly customizable and are dividing into Global notifications, Group notifications, and Group chatroom notifications.

Configuring Your Notification Settings

Global Notification Settings

1. Navigate to your profile settings (click your profile picture → Settings)

2. Select "Notifications" from the menu

3. Configure your preferences for:

   • Messages

   • Comments on Followed Posts (posts you've created, been @mentioned in, or interacted with previously)

Chose to receive push notifications and/or email notifications.

Group Notification Settings

All Groups

Here, you can adjust the notifications for ALL the groups you are a member of. Note, whatever notification settings you select here will apply to all your Groups. 1. Decide whether you want to receive group notifications by push or email notification

1. Decide if you want Hylo to send new post notifications in your Groups for every post, important posts (announcements or mentions), or if you don't want these notifications

2. Decide how often you want Hylo to send you an email digest for All your groups (daily, weekly, or none)

If you want different notification settings for your groups, scroll down to that group and adjust the notification settings accordingly.

Note: if you are in a Group view, you can adjust the notifictions for that group specifically by clicking on the bell icon in the upper left corner of the banner image.

Chat Notification Settings

From the Notifications tab in your Account Settings, you can adjust notifications for each chatroom in each group. To do so, navigate to your notifications in Account Settings by clicking on your photo icon in the upper left corner. Scroll down to the group you'd like to adjust and click on it. You will see a list of the chatrooms and the options to receive notifictions in that chatroom for:

• Every post

• Important posts (announcements and mentions)

• No Posts

Note: if you are in a chatroom in a Group, you can easily adjust notifications for that chatroom by clicking on the bell icon next to the chatroom name.
