Chats

Chats are a form of quick conversation that take place in Chatrooms.

Chatrooms are denoted with the hashtag symbol (#Chatoom)

To create a chat, navigate to a chatroom and click on the box that says “Send a chat to #'chatroom'”

• There is a toolbox to edit your text

• Attach images & files

• If you are a group steward, click the announcement icon to send a blast out to the group

• Respond to other members’ chats with an emoji or a direct comment

Adjusting Chat Notifications

Chat Notifications

• When joining a new group, by default you will get a notification for each chat in the main chat room.

• Default Notification setting for other chat channels is “mentions only”

• Once a member participates in a chat for the first time, we consider “subscribing” to the chat/topic and Hylo will enable notifications for every post in that channel.

• To adjust your notification settings for each chatroom, click on the Bell icon at the top of each chatroom. Notification options include:

  • All chats

  • Announcements & mentions

  • Mute this chat room
